How to create BoatArt

1. Upload
Upload your photo from your computer or from our gallery and it will appear in our preview.

2. Size
See if your photo looks best as a Square, Portrait (tall) or Landscape (wide) shape, then select the size of your canvas.

3. Manipulate
Use the tools to resize, move and rotate your image to fit the preview pane.

4. Treatment
Select the treatment you would like to give your image - colour, black & white, sepia or 'painting' effect

5. Frame (paper prints only)
complete your boatArt by choosing your frame and proceed to checkout.

Your Digital Image

1. Transfer your digital photo(image) from your camera to your PC or Mac.
2. Using the software that was supplied with your camera (e.g. Photoshop Elements or Photo Deluxe), crop the image to the correct format and size of file.
3. Save the image as a JPEG (jpg or jpeg) file. Your camera and software may well default the photo to this format.

* When saving your cropped photo as a jpeg file, make sure that the file size is between the minimum and maximum size indicated. The file should be no smaller than 600kB (kilobytes) and no bigger than 7Mb (megabyte).

The above sizes are based on an image taken on a 3 Mega Pixel Digital Camera. Some older cameras may have a lower specification and the quality of the reproduction on your chosen image may suffer as a result.

To ensure the quality of your photo is correctly represented on your picture, you should ensure that you are CROPPING and REDUCING your image to aspect ratio and not ENLARGING your image. For best results use the aspect ratios above (relationship between the image height and width e.g. a square photo will have an aspect ratio of 1:1 as the width and height are the same) Please refer to your software instructions on how to crop images to the correct aspect ratio.

Uploading

Using the BROWSE button locate the cropped image on your PC.
When you have found it, click the "Upload your photo" button to submit your image.
Your image will then be uploaded into the preview pane.
